Read a sample: Alaska public-adjuster status and lawful practice scope
Legal framework
Alaska does not issue a public-adjuster insurance license. The Division of Insurance defines the public role as handling claims for an insured and says the insurance code does not require that person to hold an insurance license. This is a classification rule for the product and the practitioner. It means there is no Alaska public-adjuster application, renewal cycle, or official PA licensing examination to prepare for. It does not mean the Division has endorsed a person, approved a course, or guaranteed that a proposed service is lawful under every other statute.
Course takeaway: No. No. It generally lacks jurisdiction to authorize or prohibit it, except for unfair or deceptive trade practices under AS 21.36.125.
