Rule and purpose
South Dakota begins with an unusual licensing fact: the Division of Insurance states that the state does not license property and casualty adjusters. The Division's producer pathway concerns people who sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance products and does not supply a substitute public-adjuster credential. A person studying insured-side property-claim work therefore should not advertise this course as state-approved prelicensing or say that completion produces a South Dakota license. The accurate description is practice education for documenting and communicating a property claim in a jurisdiction without a property and casualty adjuster license.
Course takeaway: The Division says South Dakota does not license property and casualty adjusters. Do not imply that South Dakota issued a PA license or approved the course as prelicensing. Producer licensing focuses on selling, soliciting, or negotiating insurance.

Questions before you start
Does this course issue a license or provide continuing-education credit?
No. It is independent study material. Licensing, official exams, required education and CE approval are separate matters. Read the South Dakota sources and course scope before purchasing.
