Read a sample: Public-adjuster identity, property scope, and license boundaries
Authority and rule
Public-adjuster identity, property scope, and license boundaries requires source-specific judgment. 1. What does Oklahoma’s public-adjuster definition focus on? Representing the interests of an insured or third party for compensation in adjusting property losses. 2. May a technical estimator avoid licensure while negotiating settlement for the client? No; a technical-assistance exception does not authorize unlicensed claim negotiation. Use the current official Title 36 text for the legal rule, OID pages for administration, and the current PSI bulletin for testing procedure. Record the review date because fee limits, exam outlines, and application systems can change. A policy controls the client’s contractual coverage; the Adjusters Licensing Act controls the practitioner’s authority. Do not turn an agency summary, an editorial study choice, or a neighboring-state practice into Oklahoma law. For this issue, cite OK-T36, OK-6202, OK-6223 and record the action, date, actor, and proof.
Course takeaway: Representing the interests of an insured or third party for compensation in adjusting property losses. Property losses only. No; § 6223 bars misrepresentation as a company or independent adjuster.
