The licensed side of the claim
Georgia Rule 120-2-3-.06 separates the public adjuster from the adjuster who works for an insurer or adjusting firm. The public adjuster works on behalf of insured individuals and is limited to property and casualty. O.C.G.A. § 33-23-43 likewise confines authority to investigating, settling, adjusting, and reporting to the proper principal: insurer-side work for an independent adjuster and insured-side work for a public adjuster. A dual license never authorizes representing both sides in the same transaction. Analyze conduct, client, and claim rather than relying on a business title.
Course takeaway: Georgia licenses public adjusters to act for insureds; the distinct exam has 100 scored questions and an official five-domain allocation.
