Consumer rule and purpose
Alabama does not issue or recognize a public-adjuster insurance license. The Department of Insurance answers that question directly in its licensing FAQ. Its terminology page further says public adjusters represent customers and in Alabama must be attorneys. This course therefore teaches insureds how to understand, document, and monitor their own property claims. It does not train a nonlawyer to sell insured-side representation, claim an Alabama public-adjuster credential, or substitute an independent-adjuster license for attorney authority.
Course takeaway: ALDOI does not issue or recognize a public-adjuster insurance license. ALDOI says insured-side public adjusters in Alabama must be attorneys. An Alabama independent adjuster works on behalf of an insurer.
